A brief introduction to cinnamon tea
Cinnamon Tea is a beverage, usually served hot, with a signature cinnamon taste and flavor. It is a favorite drink of many consumers due to its lovely taste and amazing health benefits.

There are two main methods to make cinnamon tea with different steps: with cinnamon sticks and with cinnamon powder. Both are made from cinnamon inner barks, which can belong to the Cassia or Ceylon variety.
Steps of making cinnamon tea with cinnamon sticks:

Step 2: Add boiled water into the mug
Step 3: Keep the cinnamon stick in hot water for about 10 minutes
Step 4: Add a teabag of your choice and steep it for 1 or 2 minutes
Step 5: Remove the tea bag and the cinnamon stick before serving

Data from the Observatory of Economic Complexity indicated that cinnamon products are largely imported by the USA, Mexico, and India. Of these three major importers, cinnamon tea is extremely popular, too.
Major exporters of cinnamon tea
The four largest cinnamon exporters, in 2020, were Indonesia, China, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka. The first three countries exported the Cassia variety, while Ceylon is provided by Sri Lanka.
Indonesia
Indonesia had the greatest cinnamon output in 2020, exceeding 91,000 tonnes. The country’s close trade relations with the USA have been benefiting its cinnamon exports enormously.
China
China ranked second in terms of cinnamon production, with an output of over 72,000 tonnes. Its range of products is also very large, ranging from cinnamon oil, cinnamon tubes, to cinnamon oil and cinnamon tea. However, a large proportion of Chinese cinnamon is dedicated to domestic consumers instead of exporting.
Vietnam
In 2020, Vietnam yielded more than 31,000 tonnes of cinnamon products. Vietnamese cinnamon is favored thanks to its sweet and delicate flavor. It is commonly used in various foods and drinks, including cinnamon tea.
Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka dominated the Ceylon market, having produced almost 23,000 tonnes of cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon has a milder, sweeter taste and also costs much more than Cassia.
